Who we are

A group of people wearing traditional Iu-Mien clothing standing in front of the Iu-Mien Friendship Baptist Church.

The Iu-Mien Friendship Baptist Church is a intergenerational, multicultural, bilingual church. We hope that you may truly experience all that God has to offer in our services and ministries.

We uniquely offer two services, one in Mien and the other in English. We are also united under American Baptist Churches USA, where we proudly serve as the hands and feet of Christ.

God bless.

What is Mien?

The Mien people are one of six ethnic groups that have for centuries been called "Yao" by the Chinese, Southeast Asians, and others. The Mien people are an energetic, highly motivated, hardworking minority people group in South East Asia. They can be found in the mountainous jungle that straddles the Southern Provinces of China, North Thailand, Laos, and North Vietnam.

Our history

Iu-Mien Friendship Baptist Church first met at a small home with about 40 members led by the first generation elders in 1992. Twenty plus years later, our leaders and elders recognized the church must change to meet the needs of all God's people.

While God's word remain constant, the church needed to evolve into a place where everyone's spiritual needs are met so that we can all truly become One Big Family of GOD.

As a result, we offer two services on Sunday afternoon; one in Mien and another in English. We welcome you to join us for one or both services for a time of worship and fellowship.
